Description

Doctors & patients do not always effectively communicate with each other. This is especially true in cases where a doctor is diagnosing a patient with a serious medical condition such as cancer. Even the best intentioned doctors could spend an hour or more giving this newly diagnosed patient verbal information, but all the patient remembers when he or she leaves the office is “You have cancer.”

Challenge

People living in rural areas of the country (or world) may never have access to world-class medical institutions who have expert physicians like the Cleveland Clinic, National Jewish Medical & Research Center or any other major medical teaching institution. People in rural areas often have access only to a family practitioner.

Solution

Since 1993, Med Help International has been dedicated to leveling the “health care field” by providing everyone with access to the Internet, a safe place to ask their medical questions and receive personal answers from top physicians and medical professionals affiliated with world-class institutions like The Cleveland Clinic Foundation; Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates; University of Massachusetts School of Medicine; National Jewish Medical & Research Center; New York University School of Medicine; University of Washington School of Medicine, to name only a few, to find the best medical information and support available. This is accomplished through Med Help’s online medical forums which give people affordable (and often FREE) direct interaction with physicians and medical professionals from the best institutions in America. In addition, Med Help’s online searchable library and state-of-the-art information and support gives:

  • Patients and their families access to the best medical experts and organizations, in order to help them make informed treatment decisions, within the short time lines dictated by their illness or disease.
  • People in rural areas or people with managed care limitations, access to medical professionals and the highest quality medical information & support available in the world today.
  • People the information they need to make healthier lifestyle choices by offering them individual answers to their personal medical questions.

All of Med Help’s information can be downloaded or printed so that patients can review the information as often as necessary.

Outcomes

Med Help’s website gives people a place to directly interact with doctors from the best hospitals in America, so they can get answers to ALL of their questions. In many cases, Med Help offers people free access to doctors, thanks to support from many of our medical partners. The only time Med Help charges a fee is when the company has to pay the doctor to answer each question. Our fees range from $5.00 to $19.00 per question.

For example, anyone with Internet access can log-in to the online Heart Forum, post a personal heart-related question and receive a personal reply from a Cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, which has been rated the #1 Heart Center in America for the past 11 straight years.

The same holds true for the Respiratory Disorders Forum. People can log-in and post a respiratory question and receive a personal answer from National Jewish Medical & Research Center in Denver, which has been rated the #1 Hospital in America for treatment of Respiratory Disorders.

Med Help now offers more than 20 Medical Forums for Patients ranging from Allergy to Urology.

For the past 3 years, Med Help International’s website has been rated the “Best” medical website for consumers by the Wall Street Journal. Currently, Med Help welcomes more than two million people each month, who view more than 25 million pages of information on website. Med Help just received a notice from “Hitwise” stating that it is currently the 8th highest trafficked website for healthcare, and Med Help has never paid to advertise.
