Wayne Oliver
Vice President
Mr. Oliver is a Vice President at the Center for Health Transformation, which was founded by former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Wayne leads CHT’s Health Justice and Right to Know projects as well as working closely on CHT’s Georgia Project. He also leads CHT’s e-prescribing efforts in Georgia.
Wayne was formerly the lead lobbyist and chief spokesperson for the Georgia Pharmacy Association (GPhA), a position he has held for 19 years. Additionally, he served as the Managing Editor of the Georgia Pharmacy Journal, a monthly magazine. He also directed the association’s media and public relations efforts. After leaving his hometown of Albany, Georgia, Wayne received undergraduate degrees from Mercer University – a dual B.A. in Political Science and Speech and Communications. After completing his undergraduate work at Mercer, he continued his studies and received a law degree in 1981. The primary focus of his entire career has been in the field of health care policy.
Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue recently appointed Wayne to the Georgia Commission on Men’s Health, which serves as a catalyst to promote and improve the quality of the physical, social and mental health of men in the State of Georgia. The Commission has been effective in addressing men’s health issues across the state.
He is a prolific writer, publishing hundreds of articles on a host of issues, including rural health care, professional liability, diabetes care and management, health care reform, Medicaid and health care financing. He is a member of the American Society for Law and Medicine, the American Society for Pharmacy Law, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the American Society of Association Executives, the Georgia Society of Association Executives, and serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. He was selected as a member of the Outstanding Young Men of America, Who’s Who of Business Leaders and Who’s Who of International Leaders.
Wayne and his wife, Tami, have two boys, Alex and Chris. The Olivers live just outside Atlanta in Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia.
